Program Fees and Expenses

Ideal Friendship-Nepal is funded solely through the Program Fees paid by volunteers.

IDF Nepal regular volunteer Program Fees will be available upon your request.
Please contact us at info@idfnepal.org to know the program fee structure.

Cash payment can be made in U.S .Dollars, Euro or Nepali Rupees. We also accept Western Union transfers. We do accept international bank transfer.

To confirm your participation in the program, you have to send the program fee to our bank account.

The above costs include the following:

Transportation to and from Kathmandu Airport.
Local transport to and from the placement to Kathmandu.
Accommodation and main meals during training period and placement. Language and cultural information classes
IDF-Nepal staff visits to placement.
Scholarship for the poor Rajbanshi/ Satar/ Dhimal Children
Contribution to IDF- projects for resource centers, libraries, health centers and environmental protection groups.
Community Health Camp.
Food and Accommodation in Kathmandu only, for 2 days (not Pokhara) for Visa renewal, if your program is longer than two months.

Other Financial Obligations

You will be responsible for your flight ticket to Nepal and visa fees which are as follows (check with your embassy for the latest fee structure):

$30 USD for the first two months (at the Kathmandu airport upon arrival)
$30 USD per month thereafter
Departure tax of NRs1,700 (to be paid at the airport upon departure)
Personal travel and sightseeing (trekking, jungle safari, etc)
Incidentals (food, laundry, internet access, telephone, drinks)

Should you wish to spend more time in Kathmandu during pre and post placement period, go trekking and sightseeing etc., please remember to budget accordingly! These costs will not be covered by IDF-Nepal. Additionally, volunteers are responsible for any incidentals (extra food, laundry, drinks, e-mails etc.) accrued during training and placement.

Cancellation Fees

Before starting orientation program - 80% Refund.
After starting the orientation USD 250$ will not be refunded.
No money will be refunded once you start your placement.
