English Language Teaching
Classes will be conducted in schools, libraries or IDF-Nepal resource centers. You will either be teaching alone, or with a trained educator, to classes of 10 – 40 students. The primary purpose of these classes is to build comprehension and speaking abilities. Most of the students are 10-20 years of age, however, in some areas, you will be teaching women’s groups or professionals. IDF-Nepal will provide some guidance on activities, but you are expected to bring your own teaching tools as well.
Once you are on your placement you have the full support of our team and should any problem arise there is always someone to help you. Moreover, the place you serve is always keen to your needs and they are so much eager to learn and get helped from you. You can feel this from the smiles you receive for what good deeds you do for them.
The prospect of making difference into the lives of underprivileged pupils in the communities you serve makes this project so much worth taking and rewarding.
To begin with you only need to have a heart for it and there isn't any qualification that may qualify you for this wonderful volunteering experience. More still, you don’t have to be a teacher to take part in and enjoy our teaching placements. It is open to all volunteers, those who may find knack in any of the subjects for which positions may be open. The easiest and the most popular we find is teaching English in schools. Positions however may vary from pre-school to secondary to college or in university. To check what positions could be available for you send us an email stating your suitability.
We believe this volunteering experience will really benefit the students you work with and as well you will gain valuable experience yourself.
