Education Support Program
This program helps the volunteers to support the students as well as teachers of various public and private schools. At present the volunteers are supporting in:
School Children Club:
There are different programs run by the students at different schools where children clubs are formed with the initiation of IDF-Nepal. The students from third grade can be the member of the children clubs to support the extra and co-curricular activities in the respective schools. The main roles of the volunteers here is to facilitate the pupils to conduct the program smoothly, responsibly, properly and effectively. Currently, IDF-Nepal is working with the children clubs of Sirutar Secondary School, Sisnery Higher Secondary School and Unique Nepal Academy.
Volunteer Teaching:
If the volunteers are interested to teach, if they have teaching experience in related subjects and if they are native English speakers, they can participate in this program. We are placing the volunteers in various public schools in and around Kathmandu valley as well as out of it.
Teachers' Training:
We also get involved the volunteers in teachers' training program. The in-service teachers who want to be updated with the pace of science and technology and emerging techniques in the field of teaching can take part in this program with native English Language volunteers as their trainers. For this, we are collecting the application forms with the teachers from the various schools.
Teaching at Monastaries:
Teaching at monastaries is really a very interesting program for the volunteers. Nepal is the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, the Light of Asia. There are many Gumbas, Stupas and Monastaries with thousands and thousands of the followers. Buddhism is second relegion on the basis of its followers and supprtors. The volunteers can teach to the followers of this relegion in monastaries which can be of great importance to learn about Buddha and His Schoolings .
